Toad in the Hole

Hey Kid from Hurst Street,

You need to the staff to make you this kind of toast and not *their* kind of toast. It is delicious.....

Believe me. I know. As does the staff. They are denying you Toad in the Hole. Or Bird's Nest. Or, deliciousness on a plate.

Auntie Miriam is showing her Baby Food Ig'nance.

Babies cannot have egg whites before age 1, for reasons of allergy. Or so saith the pediatrician. It's the albumen. He could have egg yolk, though.

And we've given him bacon. He likes it.

Ok, I am slow on the uptake. Why is it called "toad in the hole"?

I came home from work one night this week and we had nothing in the apartment for dinner. So I made breakfast -- an egg sandwich. It wasn't as pretty as your toad in the hole, but man it was good!

My Bride to Be and I have also been boiling eggs in the evening, then bringing them to work for lunch. Unfortunately, our success rate is only about 50%. The other half break when we plop them in the pot, or we undercook them.

So you might need to send me a recipe for boiling eggs properly. 'Cause judging by the photo of your Toad in the Hole, you've got this egg thing mastered.

Mike-- what you need is this: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00004UE75/ref=nosim/kkorg-20

And you will never have a under-boiled egg again...
