Window Trim-ments

More and more it is looking finished up there! Today I came home to windows trimmed and doors! It is amazing how much more finished a room looks with doors, door jambs, and trim work around windows and doors.

No doorknobs yet, but here is the bathroom (solid wood) door:
Closet french doors, opening into the closet--which wouldn't be a problem if that light switch wasn't behind one of the doors when it is opened. We are going to have to have that fixed.
And the vanity. It is resting on blocks on the bench. It isn't hung yet but you can start to get the idea:
And the grout work for the cream tile is done (The shower grout is done tomorrow):

Windows trimmed in the bathroom. On a side note, I am actually quite amazed at *just* how perfect that vanity base coordinates with the shower tile. Both have this espresso coffee brown finish that almost makes it look professional matched, versus a very happy coincidence.

And, in that awkward space where we will put shoes and have access to the AC unit, we have a finished opening. The plan for this bit is to hang a curtain there, so you don't stare at the AC unit (and stuff we are going to store back there), if you are in the shoe closet.

We also have trim piece bought-- 5 inches tall in order to match the rest of the baseboards in the house. The second coat of paint also went on today. We should be all plumbed & grouted tomorrow--with the possibility of the vanity in its proper place and actually working.

Will is again in Anaheim and this time for sure when he gets back, there will be a finished bathroom. No bets at the moment, but I can start taking wagers on when they will be completely done. Little Mike is saying another two more weeks.... Knowing that Empire Carpeting (yes of that annoying tv jingle fame) is scheduled for June 21st (though we can change that to be sooner or later if need be), I am going to say that we will be done on June 23rd. Any one else care to make a wager?
