Pronunication Lesson

We went on a day trip to visit an uncle of mine who sadly can't make the wedding. It was a delightful drive through some pretty English countryside. On the way I gave Miriam a lesson in how to pronounce the names of some of the towns we went past.

Repeat after me.....

Cheltenham = Cheltnm
Gloucester = Glosster

Cirencester = sirensester

Leominster = Leminstir

Tewkesbury = Tweeksbrie
Evesham = Eveshm

and the coup de grace

Worcester = Wooster

Hopefully now if any of you come to this part of the world you'll fit in like a local.

That's absurd. Everyone knows that Worcester is pronounced "Wuhs-TAH" like in Massachusetts.

It's wicked awesome.

That is awesome. Thanks so much. This will be very helpful when we all summer in Europe. :) Oh, yea, did I mention we were all going to do that in the next few years? Well, we are. :) You have been notified.

Thanks! On many of these I was close - basically just swallow as many of the sylables as possible. Hope you will continue to assist with the correct pronunciation.
