Cheddar

We got bored in Bath. After 3 days there, we were sorta done with the town. Looking for new adventures, we decided that we should drive to either Bristol or... Cheddar. The lure of cheese won.

We drove south for about 45 minutes and we got to Cheddar Gorge, a beautiful gorge in Somerset. Underground, is the river Yeo, the largest underground river in England. As it lowered, it left caves in the limestone. Cheddar has been making cheese since the 12th century, and this is where the cheese called cheddar got its name. The caves were a perfect place to store it.

Cheddar has a lovely village, many caves you can explore, and numerous places to buy (and then eat) cheese.

I could have told you that 3 days in Bath was going to be a bit much. But Cheddar looks gorgeous.
