Perilously Low On Baths

Will and I are not just going to England in another week to sort out wedding details (meet the vicar, meet the cater, sort out the marquee, pay the band, pay the hotel, visit family, find the baker, find a suit, and oh, yeah, notify the government that we intend to get married in June), but we are also perilously low on our Bath Oliver Biscuits.

These, quite frankly, are the best biscuits in the world.  The enhance the taste of the cheese or the pickle, not overpower them.  Plus, they are strong enough to bite into without breaking.

Whenever we have guests from overseas, we ask for one type of payment (well, two really) Bath Olivers and Battenberg. The Battenberg is not so crucial now that I can make it.

We have not been able to find a cracker here that will replace the Bath Olivers.  This is a photo of the *last* package of biscuits.  We are now rationing. These have got to last until we can replenish.  Just a few more days.

I think we can make it.  But, I just bought a lovely cheese....

Love that you took the photo so that the expiration date (passed!) is prominently featured. You two are so brave.

When are you coming back? I have a forsythia cutting if you'd like to try to plant it. We also have a chainsaw that we've borrowed far too long...

Even with the expiration date that has passed, those biscuits look FANCY.

The best part about that date is that it is stamped in the British format. Meaning, the month is the *middle* date. So these were best before Jan 3rd.... niiiiiice.
