Project #2: Garden Chair

We have a matching table and chairs in rod iron in our garden, given to us by the neighbor who was, well, giving it away.  One of the chairs seat bottom mesh was broken-- so your bottom could potentially fall through the chair seat bottom.  Can't throw it, though.

Will and his dad had an idea of how to save the chair.  See, we have another chair, a wooden Adirondack chair, that was tucked away in the bushes, rotting.  Will was turning it into a garden feature: putting statues or wood bits on it.  But now, he has used it as the source to fix the iron chair.

Destruction, sawing, drilling, screwing, and reconstruction were on order and the final product: a rod iron chair frame with a wooden seat, ready for anyone to sit down and enjoy the garden.

Looks pretty good but maybe a coat of varnish to protect and lessen the likelihood of splinters?
