We went with friends to the Citi Open,
one of the smaller tournaments that leads up to the U.S. Open. It was
my first pro tennis match ever and we watched Andy Murray vs. Teymuraz
Gabashvili, a Russian. We had great seats and watched an amazing match
where Murray battled for dominance the entire time. He eventually lost,
but not after several tie breakers.
It was apparent that he needed more practice on clay before going to the U.S. Open in September. Actually, this was his first match since Wimbledon!
Nothing is better practice than an actual game. And nothing was better than a perfect DC summer night watching two amazing players battle it out on the court.
