One inch of snow and the country basically shut down.
Between the potential for ice on the roads, the slush that actually was on the road, and the numerous car accidents that ran into various things (though, we never saw what when we came across the damaged car).
But, we made it to the village where the wedding was to be and had a nice curry dinner. Then a quick walk around the church to see the snow fall that was causing all the issues.

The weather forecast for Saturday: more snow and sleet. We heard that the bride had to be rescued on the road from Ticehurst to Tunbridge Wells. She and her parents were on their way there (in separate cars) as that is where they were to stay the night before the wedding. After sitting for hours, hysterical on the road, Harriet was rescued. (The dress, in Tunbridge Wells, was to be rescued early in the morning on Saturday.) Both major airports are closed and guests are canceling left and right as they can't make it. Tomorrow will be interesting, that is for sure!
